Teams Shortlisted for KGH Clinical Support Building

Three qualified proponents have been shortlisted to participate in the Request for Proposals (RFP) phase of the competition to design and build the Clinical Support Building (CSB) at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).

"This Clinical Support Building is an important stage in the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre Project, which will provide the highest level of medical care ever seen in the Interior," said Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon. "Combined with the Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals Project, it will mean almost $900 million in capital investments underway in the Okanagan."

Sun Shines on Vernon Jubilee Open House

Interior Health staff joined representatives from Infusion Health and the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation on June 19, 2010 at the Building Patient Care booth at Vernon's Sunshine Days. And what a fun and sunny day it was. The event was a tremendous success, with hundreds of Vernon residents dropping by to learn more about how health care services in the North Okanagan are going to benefit from the new Patient Care Tower at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. The tower will be complete in less than a year, with patients being accepted in September 2011.

Heart & Surgical Centre Moves Ahead

The Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) project took an important step forward today with the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the new clinical support building (CSB) at Kelowna General Hospital. The RFQ is the first step in the process to select a team to design and build the new facility.

The CSB is part of the IHSC Project announced by Premier Gordon Campbell Jan. 25, 2010. It will house laboratory and clinical support departments that will be moved from the existing hospital in preparation for the construction of the IHSC building in 2012. Ground preparation on the site also began this week.

The RFQ can be downloaded from the BC Bid website by searching for Document #3232
